What is going on with Bailey?
-------FYI-------
Legally Blonde has set a closing date of October 19 at the Palace Theatre. The show, which opened on April 29, 2007, will have played 30 previews and 595 regular performances upon closing. We are all VERY sad to hear this. Please Come back to see what Bailey is up to next in her new adventure.
Bailey is currently starring as Elle Woods in the new musical, LEGALLY BLONDE at the Palace Theatre. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster. She recevied this role after beating out 10 other very talented young ladies on, MTV's reality casting competition, "Legally Blonde The Musical: The Search for Elle Woods." Here is what she had to say about her first performence on July 23, 2008 at 2pm.
“When I turned around, I felt that energy and felt my family’s energy and the fans’ energy,” she said. “An audience’s roar is like no other. That moment I knew I’d made it.”
A recent interview with Matt Windman the amNewYork theater critic:
So, when exactly did you win the role? It was March 18. I started rehearsals around mid-June. The period in between was really strange. This absolutely phenomenal thing happened and I couldn't tell anyone.
Who knew you had won? Besides everyone at 'Legally Blonde,' only my family. After the reality show, I moved home to South Carolina for two months and it was the hardest time I've ever had. Everyone else knew I had just gotten back from filming the show, but I couldn't say anything.
During the reality show, how often were you and the other girls videotaped? They pretty much videotaped us 24/7. They told us to go to the confessional room whenever we wanted to. You needed someone to talk to, so there it was. I couldn't call my parents or friends to talk about everything that was going on.
If you could choose your next Broadway role, what would it be? Glinda in 'Wicked.'
What was your first Broadway show? Legally Blonde.' When I went to the Palace Theater on the reality show, it was the first time I was ever in a Broadway theater.
